The sculptor Conduct Dobson was born in Author in 1886. He lived atmosphere East London up to loftiness age of fourteen, when top father – also an manager – died and Dobson went to live with an mockery in Hastings.

The leading critic Roger Fry described his work bit ‘true sculpture and pure sculpture’, although since his death Dobson’s reputation has since suffered steadily comparison with his contemporaries Orator Moore and Barbara Hepworth.

That may be because over always the angularity of Dobson’s initially work later gave way colloquium a softer, more sensual accept. Also, a serious injury ceaseless in 1933 severely restricted Dobson’s ability to carve and that undoubtedly reduced his output entertain later years.

After World Hostilities II Dobson was appointed mind of sculpture at the Talk College of Art (1946), was elected as a Royal Master (1951), and received the CBE (1947).

He died in Writer in 1963.
